Frank Frazetta For The Win!!!

Today, I bring you the mastery of the late, great artist Frank Frazetta.

Today's sampler features his pen and ink illustrations. There are various illustration for the Mars series by Edgar Rice Burroughs and one made for The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Now let us bask in his greatness and watch as I weep at my putrid draftsmanship in the corner.

Until Next Time
Happy Trails

I haven't heard of the artist - but he certainly has a good style in his drawings and I'm familar with the book series Lord of the Rings, but I haven't seen his illustrations before!

Dang it, I still haven't seen Toy Story 3 and I never get time! Because I spend some of my afternoons in town with friends doing parkour and now's not the great time because I've got to do some History homework I was set for the summer and its part of my GCSE's. I wish I could see the film.

Steven - Frazetta only did a few illustrations about Tolkien's world, and I don't believe they actually made it into the books.

Unbelievable. Frank Frazetta was a sheer genius at drawing. Could you believe that he also did funny animal comics as well in the 40s? I've seen a few of those, and you wouldn't believe that he drew those in his early 20s if you didn't originally know about that. It's almost like night and day.

Robert - Frank Frazetta could draw anything!! From funny animals to space warriors, nothing could stop him. He actually drew a comic strip in 1952 called Johnny Comet, which was a racing strip. I have a book of the strips. I will have to scan and post them.
